Beach Hut

I finally got round to making my tissue box beach hut.

For some unknown reason, I didn’t feel I had the confidence to do it, so I took the bull by the horns and had ago, It’s not perfect but that makes it unique.

There are a few things that I need to look at if I make another, firstly read the instructions all the way through not half way and then get on with it, and then after reading them through when I wasn’t shore of something found I could of save myself time and energy.

Well it done now and here it is

Memory Bears

I was asked by a friend if i could make his son a memory bear from some clothes of his mum who passed away last year.

This is what I made for him

he has a zip pocket to keep special treasures.

I also made a cushion

Still with material over Pete my partner suggested I made a bear for Donna’s sister

Tool folder

Yesterday while trying to find my mojo, I went into my sewing room and decided to make my tool folder for my Sizzex shaping tools.

Firstly got out a A4 pad and started drawing and taking measurements, when I was happy I cut out the panels from grey board then hinged them together with gummed brown paper, I then stuck 2 A3 sheets of paper together and drew round my gummed grey board, then added a 1/4″ border, should have been a 1/2″ at the top (may have made life a little easier when putting the grey board in to the material sleeve) to make my material pattern

I then stuck magnets & wadding onto both sides of the grey board ( I should of cut a hold in the wadding for the magnet on the outer side, for a stronger grip)

Added the pockets to the inside material (for the tools I was in a quandary do I do elastic to hold them or separate pockets, then I thought just use the plastic that already holds them easier option) and then sewed the other sleeve together, pulled it over the wadded grey board and ladder stitched together.

I only needed 2 fat quarters to make but I used more and some lining material

I’m very pleased with the out come.

Steam punk top hat

This bank holiday, I’ve been busy making the steam punk top hat money box by clever cuts and also used Ali Reeves vintage paper’s from her resource Cd. this is how it came out

Just some glass fusing

I did the glass fusing many many years ago when I was doing stain glass classes. Move house over 10 years ago and they’ve just been moving around rooms not framed really surprised that they’re still in one piece, bought box picture frames and went and put them away, bought more; found I need slightly bigger for the stars and smaller for the square ones, not like me not to have the measurements.

Now I’ve finally put them in frames, quite pleased with them may need to change the dark backing on the purple and green star.

same card 2 sizes

Well I’ll thank my friend Julie for showing me the mag on our whats app video call, which I then had to buy.

So these are the same but different cards from Creative Stamping 83 in two sizes

Blanket Box

We got a blanket box form a friend, but it needed a little TLC so Pete my partner, sorted the stability out and painted the outside, I decorated the inside this is the result

Will post more pictures once institute

So hello

Wow didn’t realise I could get onto this page thought I’d  been logged out. Well as I’m here I better start blogging,

Life has been a bit strange with whats going on with the world and Covid19.

How we’ve wished for the weekend to be longer and the working week to be shorter, for some that has come true, Probable would have preferred it with out the restrictions. but the days are starting to merge and motivation is hard to find in the 3rd week of lock-down, it’s Easter with lovely weather.

I have no excuse not to do my UFO’s or PhD’s and to start using my USB’s(unused sales bargains) I have plenty of things to do. I just need the MoJo, who always find a way of going on holiday when you need it.

So to whoever reads this, Wishing you and yours a safe and happy Easter plus plenty of MoJo if they’ve come to stay with you.

Wow not posted since last November

So where has the time gone, load happened in the last 10 months, I’m been out of work since April spending time with my mum. I am know looking for work again, mainly to be able to pay for my crafty life style and lifes luxuries . Though I do have a sewing room full of stuff to do, plus lots of projects that I need to get on with in my craft room so if I didn’t go out.  I would be able to craft to my hearts content for at least a few years. As you may or may not know when you have time there never seems to be enough hours in the day to fit everything in. I am attending a Wednesday evening, Thursday & Friday morning craft groups, a fortnightly and 2 once a month groups and loving every minute. Plus doing some crafty classes. Below are some photo’s of my makes at classes I’ve have done with Ali @ Stamp addicts/Clever Cuts. TTFN I’ll try not to leave it for another 10 months.
